Shoestring Travels - MIttenwald

I cannot believe I forgot to post this post. Is that what you say? One Sunday back in May, Ian and I took a trip to Mittenwald, Bavaria. We had been out the night before and needed something to blow the cobwebs away. We had nothing planned but to choose a random place that we could use the Bayern ticket for. And success, we decided on Mittenwald. It is a picturesque village located close to Garmisch, which if you are a regular reader you will know we visited during the Winter. I know noew that there is so much more to do there than we did. However the day that was in it, we just explored and took it easy. Well not easy; we ascended a very steep and high forest walk only to stumble across a stunning lake. The lake turned out to be about a 15 min walk on flat footpaths from the train station. But boy, the cobwebs and spiders were long gone.
